9. Where did quests come from?
Quests began as letterboxes in Devon England in 1854. In 1980 David Sobel, of Antioch College of New England, did research as a graduate student in England and enjoyed searching for letterboxes. When he returned to the US he started The Valley Quest program. Where groups of New England school children create quests. In 1998 the South Shore Quest Committee was formed bringing quests to the Boston area. One of our members completed several quests while visiting relatives in Boston and convinced our 4H group to try and create quests for Nebraska.
